DAY 1

USA – Lima

Flight from the USA to Callao (Jorge Chávez International Airport) – Peru.

DAY 2

Lima – Huaraz (3100m)

Travel from Lima to Huaraz by bus or plane for approximately 8 hours (bus) or 1 hour (plane + 45 min from the airport to Huaraz). A private vehicle will be waiting at the station to take us to the hotel. Free night.

DAY 3

Acclimatization at Churup Lake (4450m)

We will leave the city of Huaraz heading east, passing through the villages of Unchus and Llupa, until reaching a place called Pitec (3860m), where we will register at the Huascarán National Park control post. We will then begin the hike along an ascending path, observing mountains such as Churup, Huamashraju, Cashan, and Shacsha, as well as cultivated fields. This area is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including wild ducks, medicinal plants, and forests of quenual (Andean trees). To reach the lake, we will need to climb rocks using a stable metal rope, ideal for adventure lovers, or take an easier route. Churup is a beautiful blue lake surrounded by ichu grass, quenual trees, and wildflowers. There is also a smaller lake on the eastern side for those who wish to explore further. Both lakes sit at the foot of the mountain of the same name. We will return to Huaraz by bus. Hike of approximately 5 to 6 hours.

DAY 3

Acclimatization at Churup Lake (4450m)

DAY 4

Huaraz – Yungay – Yuraqcorral (3846m) – Pisco Base Camp (4680m)

We will leave Huaraz heading north in the Callejón de Huaylas, passing through cities such as Carhuaz and Yungay, and by the Chinancocha and Orconcocha lakes in the Llanganuco valley. We will reach the Yuraqcorral camp and start the trek to Pisco Base Camp. Along the trail, we will see peaks like the South (6160m and North (5900m) Huandoy, West Pisco (5752m), Chacraraju (6108m), Yanapaccha (5460m), Chopicalqui (6354m), and the South (6768 masl) and North (6655m) Huascarán. Hike of approximately 3 to 4 hours.

DAY 4

Huaraz – Yungay – Yuraqcorral (3846m) – Pisco Base Camp (4680m)

DAY 5

Pisco Base Camp – Moraine Camp (4900m)

We will hike over rocky terrain to Moraine Camp, from where we will see mountains such as the South (6160m) and East (5900m) Huandoy, Pisco (5752m), Yanapaccha (5460m), Chopicalqui (6354m), and the South (6768m) and North (6655m) Huascarán. Hike of approximately 3 to 4 hours.

DAY 5

Pisco Base Camp – Moraine Camp (4900m)

DAY 6

Moraine Camp – Pisco Summit (5752m) – Pisco Base Camp

We will set out early to reach the Pisco summit, where we will be rewarded with panoramic views of the Cordillera Blanca. Pisco is considered a natural viewpoint. We will descend to Base Camp after the ascent. Total hike of 9 to 10 hours.

Moraine Camp – Pisco Summit (5752m) – Pisco Base Camp

DAY 7

Pisco Base Camp – Yuraqcorral Camp

Descent to Yuraqcorral camp to prepare for the next day’s trek to Chopicalqui.

Pisco Base Camp – Yuraqcorral Camp

DAY 8

Yuraqcorral Camp – Chopicalqui Base Camp (4400m)

The trek to Chopicalqui Base Camp includes views of the North (6655m) and South (6768m) Huascarán, South (6150m) Huandoy, Pisco (5752m), Chacraraju (6112m), Yanapaccha (5460m), and Chopicalqui (6354m). Hike of approximately 4 to 5 hours.

DAY 8

Yuraqcorral Camp – Chopicalqui Base Camp (4400m)

DAY 9

Chopicalqui Base Camp – Moraine Camp (4900m)

Uphill trek to the moraine camp with similar views as on Day 8. Hike of approximately 5 to 6 hours.

DAY 9

Chopicalqui Base Camp – Moraine Camp (4900m)

DAY 10

Moraine Camp – High Camp (5300m)

We will head to the glacier, using high-mountain equipment. Ascent of approximately 5 to 6 hours.

DAY 10

DAY 11

High Camp – Chopicalqui Summit (6345m) – High Camp or Moraine Camp

An early morning ascent to the summit with views of Huandoy (6160m), Pisco (5752m), Chacraraju (6112m), and Huascarán peaks. The summit offers stunning scenic views of the Cordillera Blanca. Descent to High Camp or Moraine Camp. Climb of approximately 9 to 12 hours.

DAY 11

High Camp – Chopicalqui Summit (6345m) – High Camp or Moraine Camp

DAY 12

High Camp or Moraine Camp – Base Camp

Descent to Base Camp. Hike of approximately 6 to 7 hours.

DAY 12

High Camp or Moraine Camp – Base Camp

DAY 13

Base Camp – Huaraz

We will trek to the meeting point where a private bus will take us back to Huaraz.

DAY 13

DAY 14

Huaraz – Lima

Travel to Lima in the morning (by bus or plane), arriving in the evening. Free night in Lima.
